Brain Injury Case Manager

The Neurological Rehabilitation Institute (NRI) at Brookhaven Hospital is seeking a Brain Injury Case Manager [CRRN (or eligible) or RN] with Rehab background to conduct marketing and network activities, provide clinical and facility program education with Life Care Planners, Rehabilitation Nurses, Physicians, Case Managers, Workers Comp and other healthcare professionals.  The Certified Rehabilitation Nurse Case Manager Liaison will evaluate potential patients and meet with referral sources and family members and is a vital member of our high performance team.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to connect and educate TBI patient rehabilitation
  • An ability to present the NRI program and its services to a wide range of people and a capacity to effectively use the marketplace to further the growth of the program
  • An ability to initiate and sustain marketing business relationships
  • To participate in outreach, education and patient advocacy activities
  • An ability to interact with the referring Case Manager and advise the NRI Treatment Team of their requirements
  • Knowledgeable in Workers Compensation and Disability Case Management
  • Eligibility or maintenance of CRRN/CCM certification and credentials preferred
  • Prior experience in: Case Management, Worker Compensation Case Management, direct clinical work and brain injury rehabilitation is preferred

Utilization Review Assistant

We are currently seeking a Utilization Review Assistant to offer coordination for a highly effective UR team.  The UR Assistant is responsible for ensuring we have the capacity and capability to carry out our vision for quality patient care in providing treatment on our behavioral health unit and a nationally recognized neurobehavioral rehabilitation program.  This position is ideal for candidates who want to have their professional performance recognized as a vital contribution to the organization as a whole.  Prefer an individual familiar with Utilization Review processes and functions for quality assurance.  Opportunities for growth within the organization are available.

Responsibilities of UR Assistant:

  • Complete chart reviews and write monthly and quarterly summaries for patients
  • Copy, distribute and file third-party authorizations
  • Assist with case management, level of care reviews and discharge planning as assigned
  • Take initiative and work independently
  • Participate with committees and projects as needed

Requirements for UR Assistant:

  • Provide consistent attendance during M-F work week, approximately 20 hours/week
  • Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate computer skills and ability to work with electronic record system
  • Have ability to review clinical information from various sources and synthesize information
  • Familiarity with treatment planning, documentation and discharge planning
  • Knowledge of case summaries and report writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with outside referral sources and third-party payers

Full-time Director of Quality Assurance

We are currently seeking a Full-time Director of Quality Assurance to ensure high quality services and cost-effective outcomes via our performance improvement activities. The Director assures compliance with federal regulatory and accreditation standards applicable to overall hospital practices.

Responsibilities of Director of Quality Assurance:

  • Remain current on federal regulatory and accreditation standards, and ensure compliance throughout the hospital
  • Oversight of the hospital’s Risk Management, Performance Improvement, and Infection Control analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Collaborate with hospital departments, Medical staff, and committees to achieve desired outcomes
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment

Requirements for Director of Quality Assurance:

  • Must have supervisory experience in compliance initiatives with State Department of Health, CMS, Joint Commission and CARF
  • Must be a licensed RN in Oklahoma, BSN minimum, knowledgeable of specialty healthcare systems related to mental health, neuro-rehabilitation, disability, and case management practices
  • Prefer an individual with a Healthcare Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Certification or capable of attaining certification
  • Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance and Workers Compensation with regard to compliance with funding issues
