Located in Tulsa, OK, Brookhaven is a Joint Commission/CARF accredited, 64-bed, in-patient facility for the treatment of adults with behavioral health issues ranging from eating disorders to post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, brain injury, and neurologic disorders. Assistant Medical Director for Traumatic Brain Injury Programs

The Assistant Medical Director is contracted as the hospital’s Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute (NRI) Medical Director to provide medical evaluations and interventions for those enrolled in the program.

Responsibilities of NRI Medical Director:

 Provide in-patient coverage and health care maintenance for adult individuals with behavioral health problems

  • Report to and communicate with the Medical Director of Brookhaven Hospital
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment with other licensed medical and treatment staff

 Requirements of NRI Medical Director:

  • Must maintain OK medical license, prefer Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurologist
  • Work flexible hours Monday through Friday work week
  • Provide flexible coverage and call hours
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Experience in a traumatic brain injury/neuro setting
  • Emphasis on neurocognitive and behavioral disorders

Brain Injury Case Manager

The Neurological Rehabilitation Institute (NRI) at Brookhaven Hospital is seeking a Brain Injury Case Manager [CRRN (or eligible) or RN] with Rehab background to conduct marketing and network activities, provide clinical and facility program education with Life Care Planners, Rehabilitation Nurses, Physicians, Case Managers, Workers Comp and other healthcare professionals.  The Certified Rehabilitation Nurse Case Manager Liaison will evaluate potential patients and meet with referral sources and family members and is a vital member of our high performance team.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to connect and educate TBI patient rehabilitation
  • An ability to present the NRI program and its services to a wide range of people and a capacity to effectively use the marketplace to further the growth of the program
  • An ability to initiate and sustain marketing business relationships
  • To participate in outreach, education and patient advocacy activities
  • An ability to interact with the referring Case Manager and advise the NRI Treatment Team of their requirements
  • Knowledgeable in Workers Compensation and Disability Case Management
  • Eligibility or maintenance of CRRN/CCM certification and credentials preferred
  • Prior experience in: Case Management, Worker Compensation Case Management, direct clinical work and brain injury rehabilitation is preferred

Part-time Quality Assurance Nurse

We are currently seeking a Part-time Quality Assurance Nurse to promote quality and cost-effective outcomes, identify problems such as over-utilization and under-utilization of services, governmental regulations applicable to nursing practices, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. The QA Nurse is responsible for ensuring we have the capacity and capability to carry out our vision for quality patient care in providing treatment on our behavioral health unit and a nationally recognized neurobehavioral rehabilitation program. Prefer an individual Healthcare Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement Certification Board certified or capable of attaining certification.

Responsibilities of QA Nurse:
• Review regulations from accreditation agencies and synthesize, present information and ensure compliance
• Provide information about hospital programs and services to coordinate with patient needs
• Collaborate with departments, Medical staff, and committees to develop performance improvement plans
• Serve on quality improvement committees and functions
• Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment

Requirements for QA Nurse:
• Must have experience in quality assurance with state and federal regulation and accreditation agencies
• Must be licensed RN in Oklahoma, knowledgeable of specialty healthcare systems related to mental health, neuro-rehabilitation, disability, and case management practices
• Provide consistent attendance during M-F work week, approximately 20-24 hours/week
• Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
